Madpuppet is committed to moving all development to Unity.
So I can release to all platforms including web versions at the touch of a button.
That is really the main reason.
As a development platform it IS pretty nice, though you do have to give up a little performance here and there compared to writing native code.
You can follow the progress of my first project (well, second if you count Dungeon Master's Toolkit, which is still very much alive but in hiatus).
We are excited about the new iPad 3. There, I said it. Can't wait to see Train Defense in super high definition....
Update 1.3 is now live. This means the new level and graphics are ready for download..
It also means it's time to get update 1.4 ready... which will have some new turrets and bug fixes...
new turrets include a shield generator which projects a shield over nearby carriages and towers, and a laser defense turret which can shoot missiles out of the sky.
A quick post to show off the new features in update 1.1 which has been submitted to the appstore
Train Defense passed review on the first pass in only a couple of days. Apple seems to be doing a great job with the review process lately.
Of course, I immediately found an exploit that lets a good play pretty much play indefinitely (or until he makes a bad mistake).
So Update V1.1 has been submitted which features a new Air Artillery Unit as well a FlameThrowers.
FlameThrowers are a lot of fun. You can set fire to enemies and they slowly burn down their hitpoints until they explode. Of course, Freeze ray will put out fires so you if you intend to mix Fire and Ice, you will need to be strategic with your placements.
MaDPuPPeT's first game goes live.
On 26th Jan - Australia Day - Train Defense hit the AppStore.
Get it now!
While we wait for the Apple review process to take its course, he is a gameplay video I've uploaded to YouTube
Train Defense 1.0 has been submitted to the App Store. Yeah!
Hopefully just a few more days and it will be live.
I might start looking into a Mac Store version next, and possibly something for on of the PC portals.
Android will be a bit more work since there are hoops you need to jump through to get C++ code running on Android, but I'll give it a go sometime soon.
Train Defense now has some testing plugging away, helping me out with scores and suggestions. Looking very promising so far, everyone is loving it.
We now have achievments and leaderboards and all the UI done. Still remaining is sound fx and the ability to toot your horn :)
So really close now. May be able to wrap it up this weekend if all goes well.
